Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ANTI Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Highlightz ("Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the Service:

• Account information — your Twitch user ID, login, display name, and avatar URL, obtained when you sign in via Twitch OAuth2, or your Kick user ID, username and avatar URL when you sign in via Kick OAuth2 (the Kick access token is used once to identify you and is not kept); when your account was created and when you last signed in; the referral code, if any, on the link you signed up through, so we know which outreach brought you here; and, if you ever opened the payment page, when you first did, so we can tell where people stop.
• Email address — the email on your Twitch account, which Twitch provides to us only if you approve the user:read:email permission on the sign-in screen, and the billing email on your Stripe customer record if you subscribe. We use it to contact you about your account and to prevent the same person paying twice for two accounts. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and deleting your account deletes it with the rest of your data.
• Twitch access tokens — the OAuth access and refresh tokens that authorize the Service to create clips on your behalf. These are stored in encrypted form and are never shared.
• Connected posting accounts — if you connect a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram account from your Account page, the OAuth tokens that authorize the Service to upload clips to that account, and the account's public name. For TikTok we also read the account's profile picture and posting options when you open the posting screen, to show which account you are posting to and what it allows; the picture is not stored. A clip is uploaded only when you post it, or, for YouTube and Instagram, when you schedule it or switch on Autopilot for that account; a TikTok post is made only when you press Post, with the visibility and other settings you choose each time. The tokens are stored in encrypted form, used only to post the clips you choose, never shared, and deleted when you disconnect the account or delete yours. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
• Chat samples — the detector reads public chat in real time to measure how busy it is. It does not retain that stream, with one exception: when a clip is created we keep up to 30 of the chat messages from around that moment, so you can see why the clip was flagged. These are message texts only — we do not store who sent them.
• Uploaded video — if you upload a video to the Clip Editor, that file is stored on our servers under your account so it can be played back and edited. It is visible only to you, and it is deleted when you delete it or when you delete your account.
• Billing information — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status. We never see or store your card details.
• Clip metadata — channel names, platform identifiers, timestamps, trigger scores, the Twitch clip links generated for your account, and for a Kick clip the channel page it came from. For a Highlight clip we also store the two numbers used to rank it, an audience-interest count and a view count — counts, not identities; we do not store who anyone was. We record whether the channel is flagged on Twitch as intended for mature audiences, which is Twitch's own label on the channel rather than anything about a person, so the dashboard knows to send you to Twitch to watch it. The clip itself is hosted by Twitch; for video we hold, see the next entry.
• Recorded stream video — while a channel you added is being monitored, we may record a short rolling segment of that live public broadcast so a detected moment can be saved as a video file for you. The rolling buffer is a few minutes long and is continuously overwritten. A file saved from it is stored under your account, is visible only to you, and is deleted when you delete the clip, when you delete your account, or after a retention period of up to 30 days, whichever comes first. Where the rolling recording did not capture a moment, we retrieve the clip's video from Twitch when you ask for it and store it under the same terms. A channel that has opted out is never recorded and its clips are never retrieved.
• Public clip records — for a channel being watched, we keep a record of the public clips other Twitch users create on it while it is live: the clip's id, title, time, and view count, and what our own score was at that moment, which is how we measure and improve the detector. In place of the clipper we store a one-way code derived from their Twitch id, so the same person is not counted twice; we do not store their name, and the code cannot be turned back into who they are.
• Session data — a server-side session cookie that keeps you signed in (see our Cookie Policy).
• Log data — server logs may contain IP addresses and request metadata for security and debugging purposes.
• Feedback you send us — if you use the Feedback screen, we store your message along with your account id and username so we can reply. We may publish a quote from feedback as a testimonial; tell us not to and we will not.
• Broadcaster opt-out records — if a broadcaster opts their channel out of the Service at /opt-out, we store their Twitch id, login and display name so we can keep enforcing it. Apart from the public clip records above, this is the only information we hold about people who are not users of the Service, and it exists solely to honour their request. Ask us and we will remove the record, which also lifts the block.

Kick. When you add a Kick channel we read its public chat and measure its public broadcast's audio in the same way as on Twitch, and a detected moment is stored only as a video file recorded from that live public broadcast, under the same retention and opt-out terms as above. Monitoring a Kick channel needs no Kick account. If you sign in with Kick we keep your Kick user ID, username and avatar URL (Section 1) and do not keep the Kick access token. We hold no information about Kick viewers beyond the short public chat sample stored with a clip.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To create clips on your behalf via Twitch's Clips API when you or your trigger settings direct it, to record, edit and keep the video file of a moment for your account, and to post a clip to an account you connected when you or Autopilot schedule it.
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
• To display your clip links and trigger analytics in your dashboard.
• To tune detection for you: approving or rejecting a clip adjusts how sensitive the detector is on that channel, so the Service gets better at matching your taste. This affects only your own account.
• To investigate security incidents and prevent abuse.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the following third parties as necessary to operate the Service:

• Twitch — for authentication and for creating clips on your behalf. Governed by Twitch's Privacy Notice.
• Stripe — for payment processing. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic — only where the automatic editor is set to use their model, to decide how a clip is cut and to write its caption. We send the clip's details (the channel, the stream title, the game, how long it is) and, if you have auto-captions switched on, the transcript of what was said. We never send the video file itself, your email address, or your account details. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Where the automatic editor instead runs on a model we host ourselves, none of this leaves our servers and no third party is involved.

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information, encrypted Twitch tokens, and clip metadata for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your user record, encrypted tokens, clip metadata and the chat samples stored with it, uploaded video, stream configurations, scheduled and exported items, per-stream statistics, and any feedback you sent us. Clips you have already created remain hosted on Twitch under your Twitch account and are governed by Twitch; you can manage or delete them through Twitch. Log files may be retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

Broadcaster opt-out records are kept for as long as the opt-out stands, because deleting the record would lift the block — which is the opposite of what the broadcaster asked for. Contact us to have it removed.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@highlightz.app, or by deleting your account directly from the Account settings page within the dashboard.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards including session-based authentication, HTTPS-only transmission, encryption of stored Twitch tokens at rest, and per-user data isolation. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to protect your Twitch account with a strong, unique password and two-factor authentication.

6a. Clips and Streamer Content

Twitch clips you create through the Service are created with your Twitch account and are hosted by Twitch, not by us. The video file of each moment — recorded from the live broadcast, or fetched from Twitch at your request, and on Kick the only form the clip takes — is held under your account as described in Section 1, is available only to you, and leaves our servers only when you edit and download it or post it to an account you connected. You are solely responsible for the clips you create, for any recording made at your direction, and for how you share or distribute either, including where the broadcaster is somebody other than yourself. See Section 5 of our Terms of Service for details on your responsibilities.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy at this URL and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance.
