Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Highlightz ("Service"), operated by ANTI Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Highlightz is a SaaS platform that monitors live streams on Twitch and Kick, automatically detects highlight moments from public signals such as chat activity and stream audio levels, and — at your direction and on your behalf — turns each moment into a clip. On Twitch that means both a clip created using Twitch's official Clips API (created, processed, hosted, and stored by Twitch on Twitch's own infrastructure under your Twitch account) and a video file of the moment held for your account as described below. On Kick, which offers no clip-creation interface, the video file is the clip. The Service also lets you edit that file (the Clip Editor), queue it and post it to third-party accounts you connect (the Scheduler), and, if you switch it on, do both automatically for every clip you approve (Autopilot).

Recording of live broadcasts. While a channel you have added is being monitored, the Service may record a short rolling segment of that live public broadcast on its own servers, so that a moment it detects can also be saved as a video file for you. That rolling buffer is a few minutes long and is continuously overwritten. A file saved from it is kept for a limited period — currently up to 30 days — and is deleted when you delete the clip, when your account is deleted, or when that period ends, whichever comes first. It is available only to the account the clip belongs to; it is not published, shared with other users, or hosted anywhere publicly accessible. A channel that has opted out under Section 5 is never recorded.

To provide downloads, editing and scheduling, Highlightz stores a video file of each clip for the account that created it. That file is obtained either by recording the live public broadcast as it is transmitted, using the same publicly available stream a viewer receives, or, where that recording is unavailable, by retrieving the clip's video from Twitch at your request. A stored file is private to your account, is never kept for a channel whose broadcaster has opted out, and is deleted when you delete the clip or your account and in any case within the retention period stated in the Privacy Policy. Highlightz does not alter or publicly re-host clips or past broadcasts that Twitch hosts. To measure loudness we also read a stream's audio in real time and, when you scan a past broadcast, decode an audio-only rendition of it; that audio is measured and discarded, never written to disk or retained.

The Service may also place in your review queue clips that were created on Twitch by someone other than you ("Highlight clips"). Highlightz does not create those clips; it points you to clips that already exist on Twitch. See Section 5.

Kick. The Service can also monitor public Kick channels you add, from the same public signals: the channel's public chat and the audio of its public broadcast. Kick offers no clip-creation interface, so a moment detected on Kick is saved only as a video file recorded from the live public broadcast under the paragraph above; no clip is created or hosted on Kick. Monitoring a Kick channel does not require a Kick account. You may sign in with a Kick account (Section 3); when you do, the Service keeps the Kick user id, username and avatar that Kick returns and does not keep the Kick access token. Highlight clips (Section 5) are a Twitch-only feature.

The Service offers a free plan that does not expire and does not require a payment method, alongside paid plans. See Section 4.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Accounts and Platform Authorization

You sign in by authorizing the Service through your Twitch account or your Kick account via OAuth2; an account may hold both, and either may be connected later from the Account tab. Signing in with Kick asks Kick to confirm who you are; the Service keeps the Kick user id, username and avatar it returns and does not keep the Kick access token. Clips on Twitch channels require a connected Twitch account, because they are made under your own Twitch login. By connecting your Twitch account you grant the Service permission to create clips on your behalf using Twitch's Clips API (the clips:edit permission), and, if you approve it on the sign-in screen, to read the email address on your Twitch account (the user:read:email permission). Every clip created through the Service is made with your Twitch credentials and is attributed to your Twitch account, exactly as if you had clicked Twitch's own "Clip" button.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it, including all clips created through it. Notify us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized use. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Plans and Subscriptions

The Service offers a free plan and two paid plans. The free plan does not expire and never requires a payment method: it monitors 1 channel at a time, holds 20 clips in your review queue, adds up to 5 suggested clips on top of those, and lets you keep 30 clips a week in your library. Starter is $10/month for 3 channels, a 50-clip queue and 100 clips a week. Pro is $25/month for 10 channels, a 200-clip queue, no weekly limit on what you keep, the VOD Scanner, the Clip Editor and the Scheduler. Current plan details and prices are shown on our pricing page and in your Account tab.

Where a plan limits how many clips you may keep in a period, reaching that limit pauses new approvals until the period rolls over. Clips already in your library are never removed because of it.

We may change what the free plan includes, or withdraw it, at any time. We may also, at our sole discretion, grant individual accounts free promotional access to a paid plan for a limited period. Promotional access requires no payment method, ends automatically at the end of its stated period without any charge, and does not convert into a paid subscription unless you subscribe yourself.

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for each billing period until you cancel.

5. Clips, Streamer Content, and Your Responsibility

You — not Highlightz — create the clips, and you are solely responsible for them. When the Service creates a Twitch clip, it does so on your behalf and with your authorization through Twitch's official Clips API, using your Twitch account, and the resulting clip is owned, hosted, and governed by Twitch. When the Service records, edits or posts a video file, it does so because you directed it to, whether by hand or by switching on Autopilot, and anything it posts to an account you connected is posted under that account and is yours. Highlightz acts only as a tool that you direct.

This applies equally to any recording. Where the Service records a segment of a live broadcast as described in Section 1, it does so because you added that channel and directed the Service to monitor it. The resulting file is yours to the same extent the clip is — and your responsibility to the same extent. Everything in this Section about permission, licensing, and how you use, share, download, or distribute a clip applies to that file as well, including when the broadcaster is somebody other than you.

Highlight clips are someone else's clips. A Highlight clip was created on Twitch by another Twitch user, remains that user's clip under Twitch's terms, and is hosted by Twitch under their account. Approving one keeps a link to it in your library; Highlightz does not copy, re-host, or alter it, and cannot delete it. Everything in this Section about your responsibility for how you use, share, or distribute a clip applies equally to a Highlight clip.

Broadcasters may opt out. Any broadcaster can remove their channel from the Service at highlightz.app/opt-out. Once a channel has opted out, no user can add it for monitoring, any monitoring of it already running is stopped, and the Service will not create clips from it. If you are asked by a broadcaster to stop clipping their channel, stop; the opt-out page exists so that request can be enforced for everyone at once rather than relying on you.

If a broadcaster, rights holder, platform, or any other party objects to a clip you created or how you used it, that dispute is between you and that party. You agree that ANTI Technology LLC bears no responsibility or liability for it.

You agree not to use the Service to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Highlightz name, logo, software, branding, and all related materials are the exclusive property of ANTI Technology LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with two third-party platforms: Twitch (authentication and clip creation) and Stripe (payments). Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms, including the Twitch Terms of Service, the Twitch Developer Services Agreement, and the Stripe Services Agreement. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.

9. Data and Privacy

We collect and process information necessary to operate the Service, including your Twitch account information and access tokens (stored in encrypted form), your Kick account identity if you sign in with Kick (no Kick token is kept), payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details), clip metadata such as clip links and trigger scores, a short sample of public chat messages captured alongside each clip, the video files described in Section 1 and any video you upload to or export from the Clip Editor, and the tokens for any posting account you connect in the Scheduler. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. By using the Service you consent to this processing, as further described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANTI TECHNOLOGY LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ANTI Technology LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service; any clip you create, save, post, distribute, or monetize; any content of any streamer or third party that appears in a clip you create; or your violation of these Terms, of Twitch's terms or policies, or of any applicable copyright, trademark, publicity, or other law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5, 7, 10, 11, and 12) shall survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms at this URL and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of competent jurisdiction located in New Jersey, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
